Chris Whitaker has named the 30-man Australia U20 squad for the Junior World Championship in Georgia. Captained by Queensland Reds flanker Tom Robinson, the team is largely composed of Super Rugby players, with additional talent drawn from the Australian Sevens and overseas clubs. The squad will assemble in Sydney next Wednesday before traveling to Kutaisi for their Pool D matches. They open the tournament against Spain early on Sunday, June 28, before facing Fiji and the U20 Six Nations champions, France.

The Nations Championship is a brand-new, biennial global rugby tournament that replaces the traditional friendly test windows. It pits the top six Southern Hemisphere nations against the top six from the North in a high-stakes league. The Wallabies will host three massive blockbusters Down Under against Northern Hemisphere heavyweights (Ireland in Sydney, France in Brisbane, and Italy in Perth).
