The 2026 UCI Road World Championships in Montréal reach their climax this weekend, with the Elite Women racing on Saturday, September 26, followed by the Elite Men on Sunday, September 27. In Australia, both races are available live on Stan Sport.

On Saturday Australia will be represented by Sarah Gigante, Georgia Baker, Lauretta Hanson and Amanda Spratt, with Spratt competing at her 13th and final World Championships. Gigante returns to the Australian team after her injury absence. The main international contenders include defending champion Magdeleine Vallières Mill, Demi Vollering, Lotte Kopecky and Elisa Longo Borghini. The 180km course around Montréal features around 2,570m of climbing.

For a Sunday mens race Australia has a strong seven-rider team featuring Jai Hindley, Ben O’Connor, Michael Matthews, Michael Storer, Jack Haig, Luke Tuckwell and Conor Leahy. The men’s race is 273km with approximately 3,808m of climbing. With Tadej Pogačar absent, the leading names include Wout van Aert, Remco Evenepoel, Isaac Del Toro, Paul Seixas and Tom Pidcock.

The 2026 UCI Road World Championships begin in Montréal on Sunday, September 20, with the elite individual time trials. Australian fans will have two home riders to follow: Lauretta Hanson in the women’s time trial and Conor Leahy in the men’s event with the world’s leading specialists, including Remco Evenepoel and Filippo Ganna. The women’s time trial starts at 11:00pm AEST on Sunday, followed by the men’s time trial at 2:45am AEST on Monday, September 21. Both events are live on Stan Sport.

The 2026 Tour Down Under started this year with a short prologue in and around Adelaide, kicking off the men’s WorldTour season, and runs through 25 January with five road stages in South Australia.

The race is broadcasted on the Seven Network channels (7Mate / 7TWO) and streamed for free on 7plus.

You can watch cycling races on Special Broadcasting Service (SBS) for free in Australia. They hold the broadcast rights for all Grand Tours races for Tour de France until 2030, Giro d’Italia until 2025 and Vuelta a España until 2030.
