The Australian Championship returns for its second season in October 2026, bringing together 16 clubs from seven Australian states and territories. The competition features eight foundation clubs and eight qualifiers from the National Premier Leagues (NPL), with four groups of four teams competing for places in the knockout finals. Reigning champions South Melbourne FC will face Sutherland Sharks on 17 October, while other notable opening-round fixtures include Adelaide City against Avondale and Preston Lions against Wollongong Wolves.

All matches will be available live and free on SBS On Demand, with selected fixtures broadcast on free-to-air television via SBS and SBS2. The 2026 season begins on 15 October, with the quarter-finals scheduled to start on 26 November and the Grand Final set for 10–12 December.
